Joie Miami is the true story of one woman’s journey into drugs, money, the Mob, and the ultimate betrayal. Narrated by Joie and her daughter Nicole Levy, “Joie Miami” tells the true story of Joie Talarico, a.k.a. “Joie Miami,” who was part of the organized crime underworld that once ruled South Florida in the 1970’s and 80’s. The series evokes the period when Miami was rife with crime and earned the dubious distinction of being the cocaine and marijuana capital of the United States. As Joie recalls, she was an unofficial mob soldier at the top of her game as a high-earning criminal until her life circumstances drastically changed and she turned to the FBI to start a new life. This 8-part series was produced by Asterlight with production partner Neon Hum Media.

Episode 8 - Finale: Joie's New Alliance
With Santo gone and cut off by Gino, the Mob thought Joie would go away quietly, but they never really knew her. Always resourceful, Joie does what she needs to do to survive and contacts the FBI. Joie tells her story, with narration by her daughter, Nicole Levy.
Episode 7: Limited Options for Joie
At the top of her game, it all starts to unravel for Joie. She and Gino separate, he becomes ill, and Joie summons his family from Chicago. Before they take Gino home, they all meet with an attorney. Joie turns to Santo for help and also learns she’s being subpoenaed for Noriega’s trial. Backed into a corner, Joie is out of options. As Joie starts doing bigger jobs for Santo Trafficante and moving up in the organization, Gino was drinking and depressed, and tensions between them escalated. Joie quickly transitions from mafia girlfriend to an unofficial soldier on the inside.
