Joe Poletto

Joe Poletto is a media and technology executive, whose work has brought him to the forefront of the television, internet, music and entertainment industries.

In 2006, Poletto founded Indie Global, a media, advertising and technology company. In 2019, he founded Asterlight, an independent production company focused on developing nonfiction and scripted projects. Both companies are based in San Francisco. Poletto is also the founder of Blue Rose Music, an independent record label based in Nashville, TN, and Blue Rose Foundation, a charitable foundation focused on providing preschool education and resources for children with economic needs.

Poletto brings over three decades of experience in media and advertising to his work, having served at an executive level for Microsoft, WebTV, HBO and Comedy Central. Earlier in his career, he served as Vice President of National Advertising Sales at HBO and played a major role in the launch of the network’s comedy arm, which would become Comedy Central.

Poletto joined WebTV Networks in 1996, based in Palo Alto, CA. Microsoft acquired the company in 1997, and Poletto joined the executive team of Microsoft TV, helping found Microsoft’s interactive TV group.

A native of Roxbury, Connecticut, Poletto now makes his home in Sonoma, CA with his wife and two children.
